Another 'antique ' project. This time a small box containing antique books. The box frame is balsa lined in miniature 'Florentine' paper and covered in scaled down antique wallpaper. I lightly sanded the whole thing and waxed it with 'Antique furniture wax' the kind antique dealers use.
I used an old drawer handle for the lid . It had aged to a dark tone so went well with the overall effect.
There are no hinges to this box, it was just a quickie project one night (as usual).
The books are covered in the same Antique Florentine scaled down paper and the pages of the books are made from 19 the century blank paper given by a friend who found a pile in the street and thought of me! The inside of the lid is painted in Burnt Umber , sanded and waxed. ! It was a fun, quick little project and cute!
